Dr. Hoffmann emphasizes anesthesia and pain control for those with special dental needs or fears. His sedation credentials as a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (ADBA) makes it possible to offer his patients the full range of treatment comfort components. This includes local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. He is the only general dentist in the St. Louis metropolitan area with these qualifications. The state of Missouri recertifies Dr. Hoffmann’s office every five years to ensure the quality and safety of his dental anesthesia practice.

Dr. Hoffmann completed a two-year residency in anesthesia at Lutheran Medical Center (now Southpointe Hospital). He is a member of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists and the American Association of Hospital Dentists. Dr. Hoffmann gives presentations on anesthesia to dentists and dental residents. Furthermore, his multi-member assisting team is anesthesia certified and has had extensive continuing education.
